Come to Caruthersville for the Hospitality, Stay for the Sex Education!

In the unconfirmed talk-of-the-town department, it seems that one of the teachers in the Caruthersville School District has taken sex education into her own hands... The word is that an as-yet-unnamed female teacher is sharing her expertise with girls on how to satisfy their boyfriends without 'doing it.' If this is true, I think that parents have a right to know about it. Perhaps KFVS-12 TV will come down again and really press for answers this time. Just two years ago, some teachers were "allegedly" involved in a nude hide-and-seek swinger game in the school (after hours, of course) - no substantive action was taken by the board. I wonder what will happen this time?

Perhaps the administration or a board member could set this all to rest by commenting below and either confirming or denying the situation...

The Caruthersville school board is run by queers, just like the town. No surprise what's going on there.

And the school district has always been a dumping ground for poor quality teachers that have ethical troubles in other districts.

Well. Strong comment there from anonymous. I notice that most people who lob bombs like 'queer; usually don't inlude their real name. The second part of your comment, however, deserves discussion. Can you elaborate?

This blanket statement is a bit one-sided, to say the least. I would suppose that if you looked at the salary of the average Caruthersville School District Teacher, you would find it incredibly less than the national average.
As the old adage goes "You get what you pay for."
So, if teachers are hired to merely fill open headcount, then one would expect to encounter problems such as taboo discussions with students, or iniappropriate behavior such as "nude hide and seek." I am not excusing the behavior- merely offering possible explanation.
A very wise man once told me that when it comes to staffing, you have two choices- hire tough, and manage easy, or hire easy, and manage tough. When a position pays so little, as a position as a teacher in the C'ville school District does, one cannot really hire tough, because the really good ones will not be in the candidate pool. Sure, there will be the exception- the person who grew up locally and wants to make a difference, but I am confident that they are the exception, and not the rule.
If the district insists on hiring teachers "on the cheap," and the citizens are in agreement with that practice, then everyone should expect to reap what they sow...
The harvest may come in the form of inappropriate behavior, or inappropriate instruction. These are the standards that everyone subscribes to and must live with when you go cheap.
Again, you get what you pay for- and that's my two cents worth...free of charge.

Randy: Very well-said, and you have an excellent point. I agree. What gets me is that the Board doesn't fire people when things like this happen.

Wow, first of all to the person that posted anonymously you more than likely don't know any member on the school board. The next thing is that I don't agree how the school board is handling this situation. If I was on the school board I would have taken every action possible to get those teachers and staff removed as well as their licenses stripped from them. People like that really shouldn't be teaching children. What you do in your homes is your own business, but what you do in a public place as of a school where our children learn, I find it hard to believe that these sick people are allowed around our children. As for the school board I know some former members and for you to say they are queer is really dumb, because if you were to say it to their face they would punk your little bitch ass out!

Actually to clear up some innacurate information, the salary Caruthersville teachers earn is very competitive. There happen to be some very high quality teachers and administrators in this community who work very hard to battle a culture of poverty.

Anonymous#2- to those teachers in the Caruthersville District that fit your description, they have my utmost respect.
